Neil Armstrong meninggal dunia dalam usia 82 tahun



Angkasawan Amerika Syarikat, Neil Armstrong dilaporkan telah meninggal dunia akibat satu komplikasi pembedahan.

Agensi berita AFP melaporkan, Armstrong, 82, doktor menemui sekatan di saluran darahnya dan menjalani pembedahan jantung pada awal bulan ini.

Keluarga Armstrong dilaporkan berkata, mereka sedih dengan pemergian perintis angkasa lepas itu yang sering memencilkan diri daripada perhatian media.

Siaran televisyen pada 20 Julai 1969 menunjukkan Armstrong dan seorang lagi angkasawan dalam pesawat Apollo 11, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin mendarat di permukaan bulan.

Armstrong menerima sanjungan ramai tokoh Amerika Syarikat termasuk presiden negara itu, Barack Obama menyifatkan angkasawan tersebut sebagai "wira Amerika".
